A lot of modding engines are very like crude plug-in systems. I didn't have an off-the-shelf plug-in system that I could incorporate in my app. So I had to make those decisions and kind of reinvent the wheel over and over and over again. And so for those who aren't aware, it takes your application and lets the programmer of that application kind of define a extension point or multiple extension points through the lifecycle of that program.
