The Disdisadvantaged in the Legal Process
People who are monolingual speakers of English are disadvantaged, of course, as you mentioned. By not just by the words that are used, but by the assumptions. So for example, if you as a monolingual English speaker go to court as a witness and you're going to tell your story about something that you observe that happened,. You can't tell it the way you would tell someone at home or someone on a podcast.
