The book doesn't really take a super straight line it's split up into like four sub books that each of each of which has a name of a different. Matilda has been going away from a planet that i assume to be earth it's just passed into myth and legend at this point. There are a lot of traumatic sequences where astro or somebody else is like captured and quote unquote questioned by some stupid guard who assaults them in some way okay but it eventually you know it does come back around to the mystery um.
