Ross: I did start my PhD in a pre deep learning phase for robotics, at least. The first thing sort of that I worked on for the first couple of years of me working on robotics was with drones. A lot of it was trying to get drones to like fly fast in unknown environments. He says he learned a lot about how to build robots that work in the real world. And yes, definitely a lot of drones were broken.
