Most of my students are online, mostly Chinese and then in person, right now, in Japan. I feel like I've picked up random words, mostly hello and various other languages. It's about providing feedback and updates to the parents, even if they're not asking for it. If you can provide them with materials and resources that help their child outside of class time,. That could be like flashcards and continue vocabulary or some recommended games or websites they can look at. This kind of thing helps them feel like they're still valued in that learning process - even if it's a subject they don't know much about.
