Why Do People Resist Change Their Minds?
People resist changing their minds on a couple of different scales, our different frames. The fear of social death is greater than the fear of physic death according to sociologist brook harrington. It's just that a resistance can be lowered or increased depending on what happens in the dynamic. And so we're an organism that can update its priors as we move forward. We have plenty of innate propensities and plenty of evolved responses. But we also have the ability to up date our models as we move ahead.
