You Are It, What Does That Mean?

In this story of the buddha, he had nothing to defend because he knew the nature of himself and his story. In our mind, our story is that i'm someone who's right. I don't want to be perceived as someone who's wrong. If i am content with who i am, it no longer matters how you perceive me. It doesn't help anything. But it does feel the need that i have to make sure you perceive me the way i want you to perceive me.
