The Importance of the Military in Egypt's Economy
A lot of people may not realize just how influential the military is throughout Egyptian society. They run most of the state companies and manufacture and supply everything in Egypt from medicines to fridges, often also granting themselves monopolies of certain industries. The army has become entrenched in Egypt's economy to a degree that, frankly, has become detrimental to the economy.
