The Evolution of Lichens

New evidence suggests that lichens may have made their way onto land some 100 million years after fer s and other vascular plants. But there still remains a lot to be done in the genomic study of lichen. It seems especially apt to happen in certain types of extreme environments where lichens are more well adapted than plants would be on their own.
