Automakers Are Having to Make Their Own Engines
I think one of the bigger challenges for automakers is that a much greater amount of the value chain is not made by them. Any OEM worth it's solved has to have an engine line, and even if they cooperate on transmissions, they are going to make their own engines. I don't know that Americans want to spend personal time in their cars as a place. In China, it's still this hopeful, yuppy kind of outdoorsy thing that's very new to them.
