Why Do I Need HRV?
When I started using heart rate variability in my environment over a decade ago, what was striking to me is that it tells us different information than what just heart rate alone can tell us. Most of the time when your heart variability is low, it's because your sympathetic nervous system is dominating. And so what we tend to see there is that heart rate goes up and HRV goes down.
