The Fed itself in 2008 basically leads to the idea that whenever they talk about the wealth effect, they're talking less about equities and more about real estate. Some zip codes will keep going up. Other ones will go down. I think overall, it's like this stagnate for a period of time. As you point out, that's one area of the wealth effect that can hit the middle class pretty hard.
