How Does Lightning Strike Glass Create Glass?
Madeline asked, how does lightning striking sand create glass? Sand and glass are made primarily of the same thing. Fulgurite fossilized lightning or petrified lightning is what they call it. It's pretty rare to find because you have to have the right amount of silica or quartz in there to make it happen.
