Nervous Systems - The Evolution of Life
Life itself and its regulatory apparatus, was smart to begin with. The goal was to maintain life for as long as that body would last. And guess what? Nervous systems are already being developed and evolved with that capacity. So the nervous systems don't evolve to make well regulated life possible. They appear and evolve to make life even better, regulated than during the period in which there were no nervous systems.
