The Battle of Paint Creek

In 1913, West Virginia miners went on a year-long strike. It was one of the bloodiest strikes in US history. The workers demanded that scales be installed in all mines. They also wanted to abolish mine guards and blacklisting of union activists. A train carrying machine guns came under fire as it passed by their tent camp.
