Men, You Better Love Your Husband

Paul would have been very aware that many of the pagans to whom he was speaking were coming directly out of a pagan worship. But also if we take this passage in its full context, nowhere does he wag a finger at women and say, and you better love your husband. So there is an exhortation. There's a kind of bifurcation in that exhortation in terms of its language. Both are being challenged to live lives of service.
