Is There a Cult of Personality?

I think people tend to see this intellectual chrisma, or the ability to intimidate others around you into belief, as a good thing. But i think that's probably not a good thing if you believe that a collaborative environment is what makes for a better outcome at the end of the day. Do you get more sceptical as you dive into something, when you see somebody with a strong cult of personality? I do,. just because i've seen it in so many cases where it hasn't ended well.
