When we look at personality traits, the assumption is that it's about stable patterns. But when you really look at it a bit closer, it is about certain patterns of responding and behavior. People who respond more with an increase in negative effect after a negative event then also respond less well to treatment for depression. So I think there's a lot of opportunities there to study personality in a more dynamic way.
