Film Review - The Chariot Race

William Wiler: The logistics of the chariot race sequence are like boggling. I think any film studio would be hard pressed to replicate something like that today. By the way, there is one note of realism in this film which is that there's a decidedly unglamorous Tiberius Caesar. And a great godlike man in this film he looks kind of decrepit. He says when Pontius Pilate crowns Ben Hur at the end of the chariots race it shows you that God is thick ones.
