Mycenaean Shaft Graves
Mycenaeans adopted three new styles of tomb, all of them large and labor intensive. The people buried in these tombs, especially in the shaft graves, were interred with enormous amounts of wealth. Warrior elites with a yen for gold, weapons, and exotic goods seem to be one of the defining features of the Mycenaean period as a whole. If you were looking for nice things in 17th century BC Greece, you would look over the water to Crete.
