Glenn: Love God first above all things is really what we're saying. When you love that which is the perfection of everything, including the source of all of your goods, then you're oriented to everything else the right way,. You can love your neighbor as yourself. Why? Because you've gotten the value right. Glenn: The good of the wealth is extrinsic in character. It's not interesting. So he's made a foolish bargain. He exchanged what is genuinely good, God himself, for gold. That's the dumbest exchange you could possibly make.
