Hamer did not see the interests of black women being centred in the woman's liberation movement at the time. She saw all o these active talking about patriarchy, and she certainly embraced these ideals. But for her, the label feminist did not really reflect, you know, what she saw. And so far beyond the label, her words and her deeds reflected how much she was committed to women's imparment.
