In 1815, Napoleon was forced to surrender, a staggering defeat. This time he was exiled to a different island, one not as comfortable and easily accessible as Elba. The British couldn't punish Neil otherwise they'd be admitting their mistake. They promoted him to governor of Sierra Leone in the early 1800s. In a year later, Neil died from fever of some sort. All sources just said, quote, fever.
