Iggy Pop used to wander around East Village and, you know, you just sort of see him and Johnny Funder's on these people in New York City. These guys just hang out the street. There's no separation between what they do and the people they make the music for. Well, that's probably why punk really gets going once it hits. I've got a friend in New York who picked up Sean Michelle Baskay off of Park Bench and Union Square and took him home for the night. Yeah. The fact that suicide and all the stuff that was going on in a max at that time where it's like this high art meets low art downtown scene.
