Brent Schutte, Northwestern Mutual's CIO, says there are parts of the market that are actually cheap. US small and mid-caps trade at 13 to 14 times earnings - marked down 10 to 15%. The large cap US equities have been trading at 20 times earnings for a few years. He encourages people to position their portfolios more towards those areas such as US small, US mid, and dare I even say international equities?
