Yuri, Kriven and Shanko was once working in Chelya Binsk Vorti. The secret nuclear plutonium plant experienced a disaster on September 29th, 1957. This incident became known as the Kush Tam Koy incident. Yuri had very high levels of radiation on his clothes when they tested him. He would know enough to not keep those clothes from that day. And he certainly probably wouldn't be wearing them like two years later without washing them or anything.
