The Heart's Desire by M Lewis
We don't often see aslan appear as early as we do in this book. Why is lewis so keen to bring in this key protagonist so soon? It's not really explained in the text. But i am going to have to tell you what i think about this. I think that this is very much akin to the idea of an old mant figure being called by god without the kind of background you might expect. In other words, and god draws close to people without the traditional pattern of preparation. And maybe that's what lewis is hinting at here. That seems to be the way in which m lewis wants to move the story along.
