Bird's Man Defense in the Celtics, I'm Going to the Rim, Right?

In the 80s, Bird wasn't in a position where he's going to get burned as much by smaller, quicker players. And I actually thought when he guarded players that were maybe a little bit slower and bigger, like even like a late stage Dr. Jay times that I saw him defending him, I thought he was great in man situations. The defenses that went against the Celtics opponents in the playoffs fared much better against those other opponents than they did against the Celtics right through like the late 80s.
