The Evolution of Artists Working With Scientists
Philip Ball: The AHA moment in chemistry really happened a few years ago when I was on the jury for the Louis Vuitton Science for Art Prize. And so it kind of went beyond material science to using an atom as a raw material. It's actually quite evolved in biosciences. Particularly in the area of synthetic biology, there are artists interested in creating works of art out of living cells out of bacteria and they've done this. But for some reason, I don't think that has yet happened in chemistry.
