I Think the Thread That Runs Through Her Work Is Silence

Stuffed heads are a thread that runs through her career those stuffed heads though that are sometimes in the cell like structures often behind glass or they are just some of the most haunting works I've ever seen. There's such a kind of mutedness to her work as well absolutely and I think silence is a key term for her we see that from her earliest works onward. She very famously said I fit into art history like a bug in a rug no truck with people that would say where do you fit you don't fit your notice realist, she says.
