The Role of Dialectics in Psychoanalysis
I think psychoanalysis has struggled to fully explain the idea of altruism like the idea of dignity and I get into the book of sort of where you sort of run into trouble there. There's been a general sort of a not a full appreciation of the importance of ethics and psychoanalytic process so what I try to do in the book is to advocate a dialectical model of ethics. That means from a technical perspective attending to aspects of the patient's consciousness as well as unconscious.
