All GPs in Training
There are just over 2,200 more GPs now than three years ago. But the government is using a category that includes doctors currently in training. The Royal College of GPs looked at a different category - all fully qualified GPs. There are about 6 or 700 fewer Fully Qualified GPs today compared to 2019. Becky Baird from Kings Fund says we're not paying enough attention to retention. She asks: Are there enough trainees and will this bumper crop soon stabilize?
