You know, something that i'm wondering about is if you think that the goals that people have for regulating their emotions could actually play a role here. Because if we're thinking about these bottom up, biologically relevant emotions, like the ones you feel when seeing bear in the woods, there may not be much of a need to regulate your emotions in the first place by reappraisal or anything else.
