What Is the Difference Between Primary and Secondary Emotion?
When babies are born, their entire connection to the world is largely through touch. The way we respond to newborns is we pick them up. We don't say, hey, what do you need? Not going to tell us anything. But already we are helping them begin to learn that when you are in distress, you express your distress and some one comes to comfort you. Some one comes to regulate this distressing emotion that you have. That emotion is expressed and experienced through your physicality. Because i'm hungry, i'm distressed, i'm i're tired, i'm cold, but my emotion is being co regulated by some one else. And they comfort me, they feed me
