The sinning society gets the prophets, which means God hasn't given up on them. Lewis seems to understand the idea of eternal and cord gibility. The scriptures are constantly extending grace. Where is the love of God still pursuing people who are hardening their heart? We're better to attend to them so that we would understand the outreach of the loving God rather than experiencing the consequence of our sin.
