GraphQL and REST would be the two that I think are the most prominent right now. When you have a separate front end and back end team, that's when I personally lean towards GraphQL APIs. So if you only want to have the items that are greater than $5 in price or something along those lines, you could do that with GraphQL. Whereas versus via a REST API, you would need to create a second endpoint for the items that were greater than$5.
