The Spanish Lost Everything
The Spanish lost their boat, all their provisions and even three lives in a storm. The Indians on the island would take pity on the wretched survivors, bringing them more food and water. Cabezadabaka wrote that they were closer to death than life. As we have seen in many other similar situations, men shattered like the Spanish are often seen as harmless due to their broken condition.
