The Ideal Sex Scene in Lady Chatterley
The ideal sex scene should tell you something about the characters that you didn't know before. In Charlotte Gray, we discover when there is a sex scene in that quite early on, it's bit of a non sex scene,. We discover that she's never had sex before, which is not something you knew. And so therefore her reputation for being a loose woman is tremendously unfounded. So that's my sort of ideal, or actually I suppose in Lady Chatterley, where the sex scenes tell you a lot about how these two people are trying to find connection after first world war.
