The Mammoth

A new company called colossal has received a 15 million dollar investment towards the goal of using woolly mammoth tana to make a hybridized asian elephant that could thrive in arctic climates. George church is one of the co founders of colossus, along with tepenor ben lamb. The research team has analyzed the genomes of 23 living species and extinct mammoths. They believe they all need to simultaneously programm upwards of 50 changes to give it the traits necessary to survive in the arctic. And they'are also planning to try to splice bits of frozen mammoth specimens into an Asian elephant.
