QE enabled fiscal policy to be inflationary by keeping interest rates too low. It used to be that politicians were afraid of if we got too crazy with spending, the bond vigilantes would put us back in our place. But now it doesn't seem like anyone ever mentions that I'm worried about the congressional budget, deficits, and so forth. Even if interest rates were higher because the Fed were buying less, I don't know if Congress would care.
