The Pavitz's Sinking

The Pavitz was rescued by the Royal Navy from an oil tanker in a storm. A local UK newspaper would run headlines at the heroic rescue and report that the ship ended up on the sea floor. The IOPC which is a multi-government funded compensation scheme for shipping accidents like this looked into this and they concluded that the owner of the Pavitz sent a quote to the Indian Coast Guard, leading to the safety alert being removed.
