Introduction
Michael Saccassus: I'm the author of a newsletter on technology and society called the convivial society. It pays fairly obvious homage to Illich and the idea of conviviality, he says. He also intended to pay a bit of homage to Jacques Alul, who also looms very large in my own thinking as he did for Illich. So it was both a gesture towards tools for convivialy, but also the technological society.
