I'm seeing more and more people use notion. Use other tools like make H2 or automate.io and loads of other integration stuff. But there are still what I would class as simple automations, but they don't need to be automations that if the notion you need to go outside and come in. recurring tasks is a perfect example. They've got the recurring duplicate thing going on now in notion, which I'm guessing they're going to put in databases eventually.
