What's Happening in China in the First Half of 19 Forty Two?
Japanese strategy was all over the place at that stage anyway, right? They couldn't work out where they wanted to push into the indian ocean or northern australia. All of a sudden there's a premium put on making sure no due little raids happen again. And so not only does that precipitate a far more hasty launching of the attack on midway, it also leads them to change strategy in china from what we would now probably call something like a counter insurgency strategy primary ly dedicated to pacifying guerilla activity.
