How Important Is Corching and Teaching for a Senior Engineer?

I think a lot of engineers are afraid of learning on the job. The job isn't banging out perfect code, it's solving problems. So if they give you a problem you don't know how to learn how to solve it is actually part of the job. And i think that also makes a lot more time than people have on nights and weeks around the job.
