The Effect of Age on Social Media Use

It's really hard to pick a specific age for anything because teens and kids are so different in terms of the pace of their development. But I do think we can say generally that for younger adolescents or maybe earlier teens, late pre-teens, that those younger youth tend to run into more of the negative aspects of social media. So there's some evidence to suggest that waiting makes sense. As things currently stand, 13 is the sort of legal age in the US where kids are allowed to start getting on social media.
