She tells us that the 574 tribes in the united states manage more than 100 forty million acres of land. Many have fish and wild lifean programmes working to conserve and reintroduce endangered or declining wild life. Yet these tribal programmes receive no annual funding from state or federal governments in the us. Though legislation currently before congress, might be about to change that.
