After World War II, Sayers felt that things are serious here. And we as a church need to come together to have a response so that we can rebuild society after the devastation of war. She was disgusted how many Christians she ran into who didn't even know the basic doctrine of Christianity. So it wasn't church was about protecting doctrine. It's first we have to be, we have to know what the central core of our mission is.
