Denise Low — Walking with My Delaware Grandfather

Poetry Unbound

00:00

I Feel He Is Always, I Feel His Blood Still Pulses

This poem focuses so much on who the grandfather is. He is a native man with coal black hair. And he follows danislo, and manages to be both silent and communicative. The structure of the poem too is echoing the companionship that denislo was saying. This poem offers an entirely different way of saying we are peopled together cross generational relationships of absolute need and honouring. It's bearing witness to each other in the face of annihilation, an erasure.
