Inventors have always understood this. Start up capitalists frequently figure it out. Apple computers is a famous example. It was founded by mostly republican computer engineers who broke from ibm in the 19 eighties, forming little democratic circles of 20 to forty people with their lap tops in each other's garages. This is presumably also why in the immediate wake of great disasters, a flood, a black out or an economic collapse, people tend to behave the same way.
